FIBRES

EAT RIGHT, WEIGH LIGHT,
STAY BRIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT

Food high in dietary fibres or roughage, (e.g. fruit, vegetables, wholegrain
cereals like unpolished brown rice,  whole meal bread, nuts, peas, beans, red beans, green gram oatmeal and oat bran ) helps to lower cholesterol, prevent bowl problems  and colon cancer and aid diabetics in controlling blood sugar.

They are also sources of vitamins and minerals.

Although fibres are not digested by the gastric juices they are essential for the intestines to function properly and maintain regular bowel movement.

They lower your risk of getting haemorroids, heart disease and diabetes  and cancer of the rectum and colon.

To get fibres eat large amounts of fruits and vegetables. This can lower the chances of getting some cancers and reduce  the odds of contracting heart disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems and constipation.
